It's been a few years since I've made a quilt so figured I'd put one together for her. I found this cute herring bone pattern on Pinterest and just had to try it.<br />
<br />

I was trying to decide if I wanted to do a solid backing or a patterned backing. I love using minkee since it's so soft but I don't see it have patterns very often so if I used a pattern I'd use flannel. Then I went to Hobby Lobby and found the cutest patterned minkee and it was perfect. I love the colors in it.<br />

I went with the aqua trim to tie in the colors and also had an elephant design for the quilting to match the back. I almost did a simpler quilting pattern just outlining the parallelograms or whatever shape they are but thought it might highlight all the spots I didn't get the corners matched up. For a baby blanket though I am glad I did a cute design.</div>

I'm not usually a big cheese ball fan but I got this recipe from my friend, Amy, and it's my favorite. Only takes about 5 minutes to put together. It has good flavor and very addicting. Sorry about the picture, don't think there's a way to make it pretty. </div>

<br />
<br />
I found this red velvet cake recipe from Velvet Lava. They claim it was like the original Waldorf Astoria recipe. It turned out sooo good.<br />
<br />
<b>Batter</b><br />3 tsp. cocoa (not dutch), heaping<br />1.5 oz. red food coloring (about 3 tbs.)<br />1/2 c. shortening<br />1 1/2 c. sugar<br />2 eggs (room temperature)<br />1 tbs. vanilla<br />1/2 tsp. salt<br />2 c. flour (all-purpose)<br />1 c. buttermilk (room temp., if possible)<br />1 tsp. baking soda<br />1 tbs. vinegar, white<br />
<br />
Preheat oven to 350 degrees, placing baking position to middle rack. This recipe can be used for (2) 9-inch or 8-inch pans, or 24 cupcakes; butter and flour inside of pans, then line bottom of pans with parchment paper - or - line cupcake tins with liners.<br />
<br />
<br />
In small bowl, combine cocoa and food coloring - making a runny paste, set aside. Here is what it should look like.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzg54TA950MWeKoeW0u5C5GkGV3PQKSchdEpX8NIDxT7_qxQ2my16WOFKFgJacauajGbIlcXONWxVaosIVcbOPDr1_MJb2BNpEeWZUm42QhGettr7oR1pkHbJKgvt9I7FqWn2vhrIEMGA/s1600/004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="234" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzg54TA950MWeKoeW0u5C5GkGV3PQKSchdEpX8NIDxT7_qxQ2my16WOFKFgJacauajGbIlcXONWxVaosIVcbOPDr1_MJb2BNpEeWZUm42QhGettr7oR1pkHbJKgvt9I7FqWn2vhrIEMGA/s320/004.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Using hand-held mixer, combine shortening and sugar, cream until combined; then add eggs 1 at a time - beat until combined and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add red paste, beat until completely incorporated. Add vanilla and salt, beat until incorporated. Add 1 cup flour, beat just until combined; add all of the buttermilk, beat until combined; add remaining cup of flour, beat just until combined. Do NOT overmix. Sprinkle the baking soda over the top of the batter; pour the vinegar over the top of the batter. Gently fold these last 2 ingredients in by hand - do NOT beat. Pour batter into pans or cupcake tins. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until tester that is inserted into middle of cakes comes out clean; cupcakes should bake for 18-20 minutes or until tester comes out clean. Place cakes on cooling rack to cool, then remove from pans.<br />
<br />
I learned this next step from my Aunt Mary who makes the best wedding cakes. Right when they are out of the oven, wrap them in saran wrap and put them in the freezer. It makes them very moist.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVbo5-lp7_FUswHksJ60Z_CY5VRqQ0km-PNpD-gYW0FsHvWbxgvYPqV6qPGPH5jgyLeXOT1a402xz7WELbKb8sVXMIFBNpx0XS7DRPV-VL0VH9L3KRbasApvvTd-vYI09MtIzdQApblRA/s1600/009.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVbo5-lp7_FUswHksJ60Z_CY5VRqQ0km-PNpD-gYW0FsHvWbxgvYPqV6qPGPH5jgyLeXOT1a402xz7WELbKb8sVXMIFBNpx0XS7DRPV-VL0VH9L3KRbasApvvTd-vYI09MtIzdQApblRA/s320/009.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
The frosting is not the typical cream cheese frosting that is used with red velvet cakes. It's a creamy frosting with a hint of vanilla. I was worried about getting it right because the comments were saying how finicky it was. It was actually pretty easy though.<br />
<br />
<b>Frosting:</b><br />
2/3 c. flour, all purpose<br />2 c. milk<br />1 c. shortening<br />1 c. unsalted butter, room temperature<br />2 c. sugar<br />2 tbs. vanilla<br />1 tsp. salt<br />
<br />
Prepare a cooling bath. Fill a sink or large, wide container/pan with ice water; have a medium bowl ready to cool the flour mixture. In medium saucepan, over medium heat (4-5) - add milk and flour, stirring occasionally at first and then almost constantly as the mixture begins to warm and thicken. Attentive stirring later in the cooking process will prevent unbreakable "lumps" from forming while the flour and milk begin to combine. Mixture will continue to thicken, bring the consistency just past pudding stage, where it begins to get a bit gummy. Take the mixture off the heat and pour into the waiting medium bowl. Stir vigorously and place bottom of bowl into cooling bath to speed cooling, stirring every few minutes to avoid big lumps, until mixture cools.<br /><br />In large bowl, beat shortening and butter until creamy. Add sugar and beat until incorporated and fluffy. Add vanilla and salt, beat until completely incorporated. When cooled, add the flour mixture and beat, at high speed, until completely incorporated - for 5 minutes.<br />
<br />

My cousin Marissa is having a baby boy in April. I had a quilt top that I had done a while ago but never finished so figured I'd try to quilt it myself and give to her. Well that didn't work out so well so started from scratch. <br />
<br />
I saw this helicopter fabric and had to use that since my uncle flies helicopters.<br />

<br />
The fabrics I had were all light colored so I was trying to find one to darken it up and found this cute bow tie fabric.<br />
<br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5COlY2ThWA0teVKPgZOYNDyPN3AlUTUde9tHeFtc4unXIgP28maVWPT_iM_BspGVrX1hfHtPbSVwDHZuomX_dczgxNIxaFA1x-ce-YvqHo11fYuHn82Y9EAHZ6qRJQWsgc3TtaujTBUw/s1600/011.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5COlY2ThWA0teVKPgZOYNDyPN3AlUTUde9tHeFtc4unXIgP28maVWPT_iM_BspGVrX1hfHtPbSVwDHZuomX_dczgxNIxaFA1x-ce-YvqHo11fYuHn82Y9EAHZ6qRJQWsgc3TtaujTBUw/s1600/011.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
For the quilting, I wanted to have a more fun design and found the bow ties. I still need a lot of practice on sewing the corners of the binding so sorry Marissa the corners aren't too pretty. Hope you like it!<br />

This is Cade's. It was an easy patten but frustrating figuring out who I was going to arrange it. I gave up and decided to have it very random.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiA-jr77eqqQOdxgIksSX_ZvT9TwxNcwvfbh2rkfVWi7pAcUFT6rQDYcNSy5u7nS_sAlGhcw6oXmKFt_Yi9lPZ8TlkmV0Yig_zS9mY2eXC7Dm-LJr3hMQ8XXqSQ6JKS6LAXy8sO_BUs6M/s1600/014.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiA-jr77eqqQOdxgIksSX_ZvT9TwxNcwvfbh2rkfVWi7pAcUFT6rQDYcNSy5u7nS_sAlGhcw6oXmKFt_Yi9lPZ8TlkmV0Yig_zS9mY2eXC7Dm-LJr3hMQ8XXqSQ6JKS6LAXy8sO_BUs6M/s1600/014.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
(I need to figure a better way to get a picture of the quilts)<br />
<br />
I used dark brown minkee for the back and Cade is really into soccer so he chose that design for the quilting.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguE-RhR-9pgJz4CQCECyga31qHw1S8SC4wDFn6u5Tpfwy-Fm0D5FX-5Av1yEyGrjBqZPqkF94F5qGU7lxeQ-W4Te6aN0SvwItm01YQOz-S5L_mD6rrNdzq3iklJjSPKAenCjo2jNtqnu0/s1600/Cade+quilt.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguE-RhR-9pgJz4CQCECyga31qHw1S8SC4wDFn6u5Tpfwy-Fm0D5FX-5Av1yEyGrjBqZPqkF94F5qGU7lxeQ-W4Te6aN0SvwItm01YQOz-S5L_mD6rrNdzq3iklJjSPKAenCjo2jNtqnu0/s1600/Cade+quilt.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
I don't think I made any big mistakes on this one so I can tell I am getting better at this. Now Cade won't feel like I he's being neglected since he hadn't gotten his yet. <br />

It was pretty simple and super good! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2t9MB5h-ovoqfykTXPMxGIx3EryCKvEs2OJaC7LqFkOzjWuCGUZZ-xE6z3RTPXmC3Swrk5zv0vZrnF70p-Z2IgBphAMf0G4pGjKtiT_DdaBw62CsNqFK5C1TD1CQaEGsx5x6hbxU0IEE/s1600/pie.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2t9MB5h-ovoqfykTXPMxGIx3EryCKvEs2OJaC7LqFkOzjWuCGUZZ-xE6z3RTPXmC3Swrk5zv0vZrnF70p-Z2IgBphAMf0G4pGjKtiT_DdaBw62CsNqFK5C1TD1CQaEGsx5x6hbxU0IEE/s1600/pie.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
CRUST:<br />
1 1/2 C graham cracker crumbs<br />
5 T butter, melted<br />
dash salt<br />
FILLING:<br />
12 ounces cream cheese, softened (1 1/2 packages)<br />
2 C powdered sugar<br />
1/2 C white chocolate chips<br />
1 1/2 T orange juice (fresh please)<br />
2 C cool whip<br />
dash of salt<br />
TOPPING:<br />
1 pound strawberries, sliced<br />
3 T white chocolate chips<br />
1. Grab some graham crackers (a little more than one package should
do it) and toss them into a small food processor (I used my Ninga
blender). Grind them into fine crumbs. You need 1 1/2 cups graham
cracker crumbs.<br />
2. Pour 5 tablespoons melted butter over the top of the crumbs. Add a dash of salt and blend the butter into the crumbs.<br />
3. Pour the buttery crumbs into a regular sized pie dish.<br />
4. Using a small measuring cup form the crust to the pan, pressing firmly both along the bottom and along the sides.<br />
5. Pour 1/2 cup white chocolate chips into a small bowl. Pop it into the
microwave and melt the chips for 30 seconds at a time, stirring after
each cooking interval. Once the chips have melted, set the bowl aside
allowing the chocolate to cool just a bit.<br />
6. Into your stand mixer, or large mixing bowl, place 12 ounces softened
cream cheese. Beat the cream cheese until its smooth. Add 2 cups
powdered sugar and mix until the two are well combined.<br />
7. Add 2 cups of cool whip, 1 1/2 tablespoons fresh orange juice, and
the melted white chocolate. Add a dash of salt and then mix well, until
the ingredients are nicely combined and the mixture is creamy and
smooth.<br />
8. Carefully spoon the filling over the crust.<br />
9. Wash and slice 1 pound of strawberries. Then lay them on top of the
filling. It works best if you start along the outside edge and work your
way in to the middle.<br />
10. Melt 3 more tablespoons of white chocolate in the microwave. Make
sure to only heat them for 30 seconds at a time, stirring after each
cooking interval.<br />
11. Drizzle the chocolate over the top of the berries.<br />
12. Pop your beautiful pie into the fridge to chill for 1 hour before serving.<br />

I started back in March, took a really long break from it and finally finished the end of December.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLxbc23VogwXR6asHx2K_l6R5hG2e2TJWHsJmntWItDs7HxweYZ3HUt29hhw2PQ5XdYEOUjIYYuNOyKgHJY82uJmsja0MxRuc8MsRdQlGeKR4xUqXJB5AoYqZIJtykjnQRC2OzM4RWLJ4/s1600/006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLxbc23VogwXR6asHx2K_l6R5hG2e2TJWHsJmntWItDs7HxweYZ3HUt29hhw2PQ5XdYEOUjIYYuNOyKgHJY82uJmsja0MxRuc8MsRdQlGeKR4xUqXJB5AoYqZIJtykjnQRC2OzM4RWLJ4/s320/006.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I got the idea from this quilt from pinterest. They had all the colors randomly but I liked the rainbow look so I made the colors in rows and I like it better this way.<br />
<br />
For the binding I used a rainbow striped fabric to tie in all the colors together. I really like how it looks.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I've learned I'm definitely not a perfectionist but at least from far away you can't tell too much. Hopefully Maddy's happy with it. <br />

The first one is for Ryan. The hardest part of this quilt was finding fabric he liked. Couldn't be babyish or girly. My sister had to even convince him red was not a girl color. Here is how it turned out.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh91gpgmqTELEwEzIdQA2QARp_XnJ6n9qflG6qIwX8YhgaQg7ZlnkamtMJgImxIOu0R2G8HNoPMfft029Qmg89yoqmrf4W6l1UuwGnC_9p_h2QrWi00LlFJQRTgc8MgSGG7Q8zP8bUd9JA/s1600/001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh91gpgmqTELEwEzIdQA2QARp_XnJ6n9qflG6qIwX8YhgaQg7ZlnkamtMJgImxIOu0R2G8HNoPMfft029Qmg89yoqmrf4W6l1UuwGnC_9p_h2QrWi00LlFJQRTgc8MgSGG7Q8zP8bUd9JA/s320/001.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
I found a blog that gave easy instructions on how to do a chevron pattern. I would definitely do this again. For the back, I used a dark gray minky. I liked how it turned out, next up is Maddy's.<br />

It was large enough and heavy enough, I had a hard time getting a good picture of the full blanket.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNbfDXap6RDBYHpgcQZ9mq-i1_9GKtx47jA6GMqJfuymDo-2oYdlf8cj4hz4dt9-FXt8l1fsBNvHqxEPD8PJ7OjgKTwDp4Q_PmVvLTyjdoW1_tEjY9cNbV2rZj-3E3yPAAvEY0nGUEv5c/s1600/001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNbfDXap6RDBYHpgcQZ9mq-i1_9GKtx47jA6GMqJfuymDo-2oYdlf8cj4hz4dt9-FXt8l1fsBNvHqxEPD8PJ7OjgKTwDp4Q_PmVvLTyjdoW1_tEjY9cNbV2rZj-3E3yPAAvEY0nGUEv5c/s320/001.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
For the back I used my new favorite fabric called cuddly rose minky. It is so silky. I love it!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTzHM-OIiVrlp7uzUcppklMUTDg8Own2qFKDdQ5g4UJt1mqB5J6DZUZzS95FR5q3BshD7OfyPbPkyEkM6XuVJx_4-nShiFzfgm1Bv5-iA5vZCtMk9hv79t5J0CWBLBJLLxpIyKfNstTrs/s1600/005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTzHM-OIiVrlp7uzUcppklMUTDg8Own2qFKDdQ5g4UJt1mqB5J6DZUZzS95FR5q3BshD7OfyPbPkyEkM6XuVJx_4-nShiFzfgm1Bv5-iA5vZCtMk9hv79t5J0CWBLBJLLxpIyKfNstTrs/s320/005.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This was a pretty easy quilt to make, and I sent it to a place down in Utah to get the quilting done. I think it turned out pretty good.<br />
<br />

Here is a finished picture.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7DoQ72tp8dIlIkPhSIziBwZP200QTd7HE7SDjl3d_73yw1gGGkkuj-qxwwUsico7YE9q58jkb5H0297jn7adkb0XLiOM7jFO7FkTfE_pjn4N4YhwOUh8fUmZsfKIQ7UAIStmwAQB-IvE/s1600/019.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7DoQ72tp8dIlIkPhSIziBwZP200QTd7HE7SDjl3d_73yw1gGGkkuj-qxwwUsico7YE9q58jkb5H0297jn7adkb0XLiOM7jFO7FkTfE_pjn4N4YhwOUh8fUmZsfKIQ7UAIStmwAQB-IvE/s320/019.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
The diamonds are definitely more challenging than squares but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I like how easy this pattern is to change it up by choosing different colors for the diamonds and any patterned fabric for the strips. <br />
<br />
For the back I used minkee. It is so soft, I loved how it looks.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

On the strips, I did a raw edge so it has a frayed edge. It was fun doing something that was a little harder. She seemed to be happy with it, hopefully it gets a lot of use.<br />

Here's my very first quilt. I chose to do a dark purple background and for the binding I sewed together scrapes of the fabric from the squares. I really like how it turned out and I like the white thread against the dark fabric on the backing.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Here is the second quilt. For the back I just used some of the brown fabric that was in the corners of the quilt. This is a very busy looking quilt but I'm still very happy with how it turned out. For the binding I used a solid green color. <br />

I had to make some adjustments to get it all lined up and in that process got frustrated so had to take a week off then finish it. Here is how it turned out.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzJNFwonn88WpSa4v6QoQm45A1D0Bb5VNJgHNRAoRhOhnHMDFVkPKhKH-qigz0Lkn515NAKgDbUBCLA2onqizP82rYJMHWruRc-Y0EYzL8NEOX_YU6RBuCHeP0e46c9RL4Qe0SK_tzAAs/s1600/001.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzJNFwonn88WpSa4v6QoQm45A1D0Bb5VNJgHNRAoRhOhnHMDFVkPKhKH-qigz0Lkn515NAKgDbUBCLA2onqizP82rYJMHWruRc-Y0EYzL8NEOX_YU6RBuCHeP0e46c9RL4Qe0SK_tzAAs/s320/001.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5721436795296228178" border="0" /></a>I got the pattern from <a href="http://www.diaryofaquilter.com/">http://www.diaryofaquilter.com/</a>. I loved the polka dots. She used a lot more types of fabrics than I did but I think it works just as well with a few different patterns. I will use the brown fabric as the backing. I'm hoping to get it all quilted next weekend.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVfGV_o3JsMMXmR0ODy1I5dQMs0Q3e_JqLVKkZyR1HZPHedURS5hDoqRvb3zPxQM5Sq8PgLrmv3B3PmN_NRI-8AnOxyoL_ugwhL3noxvp7APee-HvEqkqAZvMxP0IbqyABuWAn6Fof8cA/s1600/001.JPG"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 241px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVfGV_o3JsMMXmR0ODy1I5dQMs0Q3e_JqLVKkZyR1HZPHedURS5hDoqRvb3zPxQM5Sq8PgLrmv3B3PmN_NRI-8AnOxyoL_ugwhL3noxvp7APee-HvEqkqAZvMxP0IbqyABuWAn6Fof8cA/s320/001.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5721437680649899122" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Here is a close up of the smaller squares.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8EpwM9GGzkvHvnBs82t25eCoqith8nb6vdrFLEdgt1j7JTJxCiw5zT6l609Myc4IVhcXQCCPGtvw4LdIz6xZ_l9EDski2WcgRnDKGuL4lkJTUCTjfhI50Cm1E7KOrlJ7cmjtN1PqbCds/s1600/003.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 241px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8EpwM9GGzkvHvnBs82t25eCoqith8nb6vdrFLEdgt1j7JTJxCiw5zT6l609Myc4IVhcXQCCPGtvw4LdIz6xZ_l9EDski2WcgRnDKGuL4lkJTUCTjfhI50Cm1E7KOrlJ7cmjtN1PqbCds/s320/003.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5721438350539709346" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVfGV_o3JsMMXmR0ODy1I5dQMs0Q3e_JqLVKkZyR1HZPHedURS5hDoqRvb3zPxQM5Sq8PgLrmv3B3PmN_NRI-8AnOxyoL_ugwhL3noxvp7APee-HvEqkqAZvMxP0IbqyABuWAn6Fof8cA/s1600/001.JPG"></a>Sarahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09019407578284556678noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1792524009348832216.post-74931649842396996722012-03-11T15:52:00.006-06:002012-03-11T16:12:53.683-06:00White Chocolate Raspberry Bundt CakeThis is the moistest cake! I found it on the website <a href="http://www.allthingsthrifty.com/">www.allthingsthrifty.com</a>. It didn't turn out pretty because when I tried taking it out of the pan some of the bottom stuck. Here is the result.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiteA24gmCT9dRcJVT6F3gqfqjdi4X5dTfZp183vSyOZSJMqKi3Z8BvG4E0nPLKpE-Hni8sIaXeRiFb8lfE6y6MMNsJBe4w79SK6afTyolpHa8DNs7KMtIx6CXmfTN7QP78yq5TUjnAGZ8/s1600/035.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 241px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiteA24gmCT9dRcJVT6F3gqfqjdi4X5dTfZp183vSyOZSJMqKi3Z8BvG4E0nPLKpE-Hni8sIaXeRiFb8lfE6y6MMNsJBe4w79SK6afTyolpHa8DNs7KMtIx6CXmfTN7QP78yq5TUjnAGZ8/s320/035.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5718761460488039090" border="0" /></a><br />Ingredients:<br />1 white cake mix (make as directed)<br />1/2 cup applesauce (no cinnamon)<br />1 small box instant vanilla pudding<br />1 cup frozen raspberries<br />1 Tbsp flour<br />1 cup white chocolate chips<br /><br />Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Once you prepare cake mix as directed, add in applesauce and pudding, mixing well. Put about 1/3 of batter into a separate bowl.<br /><br />Thaw the raspberries and mash up with a fork. When all mashed, add the flour and stir together. Then add to the 1/3 of batter you put in seperated.<br /><br />Melt your white chocolate chips gradually in the microwave being careful not to burn. I put them into my microwave in a bowl for 30 seconds the first time, and then I stir the chocolate. Then I put it back into the microwave for 10 second increments while stirring in between until the chocolate is melted completely. Now, add to the 2/3 portion of batter.<br /><br />Grease bundt can very thoroughly and put half of the white chocolate batter in bottom of pan. Then add the raspberry mixture on top in dallops. Finally, add the remaining white chocolate mixture on top.<br /><br />To get the marbled look, use a knife and make S shapes throughout and make sure not to touch bottom of pan.<br /><br />Bake for 42-45 mins. Let the cake cool for a little bit and then turn it onto a cooling rack. While it's still warm, triple wrap in saran wrap and stick in the freezer. (on the website it says for 5-7 days. I only did it over night and let it thaw in the morning) It comes out so moist it's barely staying together.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyOUo6IzK7plx-mSWfC8kixsi7tvQDEQxHID0dz2l8ZCrodPMae9UxRL8s524h9ZKpanFV-F4nFojYN5SoONI5Oq0sylb4DdVU344pJNqsa1jM_h_sRGnNlwgo3VU3zi_1o5AP8HWiuig/s1600/036.JPG"></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkvg-VPr3kNSUc2-XaKfLF57i3zkcGTks9lUd0wJY6hCXWkoSY97lBZNepKJziLfFskwziqiCU1DTAv1IH6S3hYpQUfNZ-AVM5OqZgtxSkMD2JZWUMV2sFcROUefiQ3ibi_ATUOc19ExE/s1600/040.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkvg-VPr3kNSUc2-XaKfLF57i3zkcGTks9lUd0wJY6hCXWkoSY97lBZNepKJziLfFskwziqiCU1DTAv1IH6S3hYpQUfNZ-AVM5OqZgtxSkMD2JZWUMV2sFcROUefiQ3ibi_ATUOc19ExE/s320/040.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5718765257268921282" border="0" /></a><br /><br />She used a frosting on her's. I found a pattern on the website, <a href="http://yardsandyards.blogspot.com/search?q=all+squared+up">http://yardsandyards.blogspot.com/search?q=all+squared+up</a>. I loved the fabric that she used also so I bought the fabric and pattern but still didn't own a sewing machine. For Christmas my parents were very nice and gave one to me for Christmas.<br /><br />So here is my first quilt I've made:<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhge7YXEmvKPNLmgrA043fGDe5Adujgtzvp0BztBqo1lgb9Ekpg7fdcOyk6wlZe984mcV77zIRK3k-goc0US4BuMPxdvfwOc-xVsfvar3NRuWOv6CMLV9Z_2z4qx1FAerrwu-C6NpW7v9o/s1600/001.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 241px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhge7YXEmvKPNLmgrA043fGDe5Adujgtzvp0BztBqo1lgb9Ekpg7fdcOyk6wlZe984mcV77zIRK3k-goc0US4BuMPxdvfwOc-xVsfvar3NRuWOv6CMLV9Z_2z4qx1FAerrwu-C6NpW7v9o/s320/001.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5715760612142533906" border="0" /></a><br />You can definitely tell it's my first one but I'm pretty happy with the outcome. I'm not very good at bread making but I try and this always hits the spot. I think the yeast I used was too old so it didn't rise like it was suppose to.<br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8i7cSEAeGOebdBDmQa_Z6XqgTs4jGqu9PlHRmR4mC3GngKtge-kVIOT1s9rMA_iTnIugkn7eBhevpZz2HDsuMP2gx_Dic4lYU-FVdDF8C7nwlMJHBDrDaeq6xp1fbBYgYtDol1ocr_DE/s1600/005.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 241px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8i7cSEAeGOebdBDmQa_Z6XqgTs4jGqu9PlHRmR4mC3GngKtge-kVIOT1s9rMA_iTnIugkn7eBhevpZz2HDsuMP2gx_Dic4lYU-FVdDF8C7nwlMJHBDrDaeq6xp1fbBYgYtDol1ocr_DE/s320/005.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5713685817080087874" border="0" /></a><span style="font-weight: bold;">Pizza Bread</span><br />4 c. hot water<br />1 1/2 c. dry nonfat milk<br />1/2 c. margarine<br />1/2 c. sugar<br />4 t. salt<br />2 T. yeast<br />1 t. paprika<br />1 c. Parmesan cheese<br />1 t. garlic powder<br />2 t. oregano<br />2 t. basil<br />1/2-1 c.green stuffed green olives, sliced (i do half green and half black olives)<br />12-14 c. flour<br /><br /><br /> In large mixing bowl or bread maker, combine hot water, dry milk, margarine, sugar and salt. Cool to lukewarm; then add yeast. Add 1/2 flour and remaining ingredients. Stir to mix thoroughly. Add remaining flour. Cover and let raise until doubled. Knead well and divide into 6 parts. Let raise till double. Bake 350 degrees for 30 mins. Immediately after taking from oven, butter top of loaves and sprinkle with salt.<br /><br /><br />You can put them in regular bread pans or put two on a large cookie sheet.
