I went with the aqua trim to tie in the colors and also had an elephant design for the quilting to match the back. I almost did a simpler quilting pattern just outlining the parallelograms or whatever shape they are but thought it might highlight all the spots I didn't get the corners matched up. For a baby blanket though I am glad I did a cute design.
I decided to start a blog with things I enjoy doing. I love to bake so that will be a lot of it. I've also recently started quilting so I'll share some of my projects.

Quilt for Des's Baby
One of my first friends from Boise is having her first baby. It's been a few years since I've made a quilt so figured I'd put one together for her. I found this cute herring bone pattern on Pinterest and just had to try it.
I was trying to decide if I wanted to do a solid backing or a patterned backing. I love using minkee since it's so soft but I don't see it have patterns very often so if I used a pattern I'd use flannel. Then I went to Hobby Lobby and found the cutest patterned minkee and it was perfect. I love the colors in it.
